The Aqua-tnet project has been funded with support from the European Commission. The Funding programme is the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), which is the the flagship European Funding programme in the field of education and training. It enables individuals at all stages of their lives to pursue stimulating learning opportunities across Europe. It is an umbrella programme integrating various educational and training initiatives. LLP is divided in four sectorial sub programmes and four so called 'transversal' programmes.
Aqua-tnet is funded under the Sectoral sub programme Erasmus - Higher education. Erasmus is the EU's flagship education and training programme, enabling more than 180,000 students to study and work abroad each year, as well as supporting co-operation actions between higher education institutions across Europe. It caters not only for students, but also for professors and business staff who want to teach abroad and for university staff who want to be trained abroad.
