The Workpackage 5 Report is now available as a draft for comment
The report presents a concise overview of current innovations and technologies relevant to aquaculture, fisheries and aquatic resources education. Each section concludes with a selection of Internet links for more detailed exploration of the issues and technologies discussed. The workgroup would welcome feedback and discussion to help improve the document, but more importantly to help encourage and support greater innovation in teaching.

Scheduled outputs:
- Report on EC policy and initiatives for eLearning and teaching innovation
- Report on use of new learning technologies by partners and priorities for development
- Report and database with core data on tools and pedagogy for simulation and applications in aquaculture and fisheries
- Report on identification of resources and best practice from other sectors
- Report on identification of relevant standards or emerging standards
- Statistical results from the survey generated from online database
- Summary of workshop where stakeholders are consulted
- Web portal which will be the platform for all network activities. Contents will be an introduction to the network, resources for WP1-10, discussion forum, hosting of virtual events, interactive sections for submitting resources and data, document presentation and software repository
- Workshop report on major issues related to innovation in teaching and learning approaches. Topics covered will be challenges of security, IPR, interoperability and plagiarism, the status and prospects for eLearning and blended learning in aquaculture and fisheries, and student support expecially in eLearning.
- Database of innovative learning resources for aquaculture and fisheries, available from network portal
- Workshop report with key subject areas: working with new technologies and pedagogical models - especially mobile networked devices, the challenge of student management across multiple institutions, opportunities for collaboration - implementing shared reusable learning objects, drawing overall workpackage conclusions
- Publication; innovation in teaching Aquaculture, Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management
